The hoped-for miracle didn't happen: SC Maisach lost the relegation second leg to stay up in the district league at FC Wildsteig/Rottenbuch in front of 450 spectators.

Maisach

- After the 1: 4 defeat in the first leg last Wednesday evening, SCM coach Chris Schneider's team also conceded a 1: 5 pack on Whit Saturday.

The second in the district class, Wildsteig/Rottenbuch, made it through with success and will therefore play in the district league in the new season.

The second game showed a number of similarities to the first leg, especially in terms of the timing of the goals.

As in the first meeting on Wednesday in Maisach, the syndicate went 1-0 up after exactly four minutes thanks to Maximilian Berchthold, who later scored three goals.

And immediately after the restart, the Schneider-Elf had to accept the 1:3 again.

In Maisach, too, the decisive goal fell immediately after the break.

"We had reduced the lead to 1:2 shortly before the half-time whistle with a header from Sebastian Kipka, but after we scored the second goal it was clear to us that a turnaround would be almost impossible," reported Schneider.

Before the 0:2 by Roman Trainer, who had already scored against Maisach on Wednesday, the SCM should have received a penalty.

Nico Riedl was fouled by the opposing goalkeeper.

However, the referee allowed it to continue.

After the 1: 3, the Maisachers were out of breath, said Schneider.

They didn't give up, but every Maisacher on the pitch knew that that was it.

Up to the 75th minute, FC Wildsteig/Rottenbuch pulled away to 5:1 with goals from Kilian Geiger and Berchthold and after the final whistle exuberantly celebrated the march through to the district league.

Now it is against Bernbeuren

But not all days are over for SC Maisach either.

On Wednesday evening, 6.30 p.m., on a neutral pitch in Utting, the Schneider team will have another chance to play in the district league next season.

Opponent is TSV Bernbeuren, who lost the relegation against SC Weßling, a league competitor.

Last season, Maisach lost the away game in Bernbeuren 4-1 and drew 2-2 at home.

As is well known, however, knockout games have their own laws.

"If we really get off, the world won't end," Schneider said before.

“Everyone stands behind the club and we stay together in the district class.

Players and coaches.”
