Pascual deal on the verge of closing, expected to sign for three years at Maccabi Tel Aviv

The Spanish coach is very close to exiting his contract at Zenit St Petersburg, the Yellows plan to sign him for two years with an option for another season.

If he does arrive, Pascual is expected to bring his assistant Inigo Sorsano and possibly a number of players from Russia.

Xavi Pasqual's deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv on the verge of closing.

The coach is in the final stages of his departure from Zenit St Petersburg and the Yellows will sign him to a two-year contract with an option for a third season.

Pasquale will bring with him from Zenit his Spanish assistant Inigo Sorsano.

The coach is expected to try to bring a number of players with him from Russia, when Maccabi Tel Aviv will move towards signing players when the deal closes.

As you may recall, the team that was eliminated by Bnei Herzliya in the playoff semifinals is waiting for Pascual's final answer in order to start moving in the player market, with the assessment that with the appointment of a coach, a mask of signings will begin.

Xavi Pascual began his coaching career in the lower leagues in Spain in the early 1970s and in 2008 was appointed head coach of Barcelona after four years as assistant and coach of the reserve team.

During his years as the Catalan coach he won four Spanish championships with them, three times in the Spanish King's Cup and one time in the Euroleague (2009/10).
