In Spain, equal pay between men and women in football is advancing.
The players selected for the national team will receive the same sums as the men to represent their country, the Football Federation announced on Tuesday.
"It's a historic day," said Amanda Gutierrez, president of the Futpro union, which represented the players in the negotiations.
Spain thus joins countries such as Brazil, England, the United States, Norway and Denmark which have already concluded similar agreements.

"From now on, national team players will have a bonus lead, exactly the same as the men's team," said federation president Luis Rubiales.
“All players will also receive a percentage on sponsorship contracts.
I think it is difficult to find such a comprehensive agreement elsewhere,” he added.
The agreement, which covers the next five seasons, also copies the working conditions of women (travel, food, accommodation) to those of men.
In France, 40,000 euros against 400,000
And in France ?
It's not for now.
“Equal pay and bonuses are just impossible.
The economy, the influence, the interest in the two selections have nothing in common, ”we said in the corridors of the French Football Federation last February.
Each tricolor player would have received a check for 40,000 euros in the event of victory at the Women's World Cup in 2019, compared to 400,000 euros for their male counterparts in 2018.
