Russian and Belarusian players, excluded from Wimbledon, will however be allowed to participate in the US Open 2022, but only under a neutral flag, the American Tennis Federation, organizer of this Grand Slam, announced on Tuesday.

The USTA, which
"continues to condemn Russia's unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine"
, has decided to enforce the directive requiring players from these countries to play under a neutral flag when competing outside of the international team competitions, thus not imitating the organizers of Wimbledon, who excluded Russians and Belarusians from their tournament.
