Pure euphoria prevailed among the St. Wolfgang footballers on Sunday afternoon after promotion to the district league.

St. Wolfgang – After the 5:2 victory in the Erdinger Stadion against BC Attaching 2 (we reported), TSV trainer Harald Weiß was beaming all over his face.

"I'm brutally proud of my boys, they showed a great performance today.

We even made it exciting again with the unnecessary penalty, but after that we just played confidently and we deserved to win,” enthused Weiß.

“We wanted to design the game and we did that very well.

It was just world class after all the relegation efforts.” The Wolfgang coach thanked the fans: “They were amazing again today and now we’re celebrating with them.”

TSV captain Simon Peinelt was also overjoyed.

"It's just awesome, we were already way down in the league, at times nobody believed in promotion anymore," he recalled.

“Then came the unfortunate relegation defeat against Finsing 2, and now we've made it.

We always knew what we were capable of and we're incredibly happy now.” In the middle of the conversation, Peinelt had an extensive beer shower from the supporters, which of course didn't bother him in the hour of triumph.

“Our fans are just fantastic.

They carried us to the front again today,” praised Peinelt.

Henning Labahn was also in the middle of the celebrating crowd of players.

"It's just great and we're all overjoyed," he said, also euphorically.

“In such weather it was a huge burden after all the effort.

But we mastered it really well.” He expressly praised a move by Coach Weiß.

"After we were actually knocked out in the season, our coach had geared the tactics to be more offensive.

That was crucial for me, after that it went better and better and we deserved promotion.

Now it's off to Sportheim, there will certainly be a few beers."

Fan Robert Daumoser, who watched the game right next to the coaching bench, emphasized: "I'm really excited about the squad.

Today you could tell that they just want to win and that they fought like crazy.” In his opinion, too, the rise in St. Wolfgang is absolutely deserved.

“We weren't very lucky against Finsing, but today we were unstoppable.

Just great,” said Daumoser.
