Earlier this month, the glorious career of Argentine striker Carlos Tevez came to an end.
At 38, he hung up his shoes after a season at Boca Juniors, but very quickly decided, "I plan to become a coach."
Indeed, barely two weeks after retirement, Tevez will get his first chance on the lines, and he is expected to be appointed these days as coach of Rosario Central of the Argentine league.
"I have the same butterflies in my stomach from the game. My team will play the way I feel football," said Tevez, who will step into the shoes of Leandro Somoza who resigned earlier this week.
"We will receive him with open arms," said team goalkeeper Gaspar Serbio, "it's something special for me that Carlitos is coming here. We will all support him until death do us part."
According to reports, Tevez's contract at Rosario will be for three years, and already in a week, Friday, June 24, he will make his debut in a home league game against Gymnasium.
