Sebastian Vettel's season remains a big ups and downs. At the Austrian Grand Prix, the four-time Formula 1 world champion followed in qualifying, worked his way up to midfield in the sprint race in the meantime, to park his racing car after an accident with Alex Albon.
In the main race, Vettel will start again from the end of the field.
After the sprint, Vettel also received a penalty.
The 35-year-old Aston Martin driver had left the obligatory drivers' meeting the day before - without permission.
In addition, he said he "expressed his frustration" at the meeting with race director Niels Wittich.
Vettel was therefore sentenced to a fine of 25,000 euros on probation until the end of this world championship.
"Drivers at this level are role models for all drivers around the world and in the opinion of the race commissioners, Vettel did not meet this standard in this case," said those responsible for Formula 1.
The fact that Vettel visited Wittich after his departure and apologized had a positive effect.
In addition, the two had a constructive conversation about the topics of the meeting, which Vettel had probably previously enraged.
Details are not yet known.
