The La Courneuve Flash won the Diamond Helmet final against the Black Panthers of Thonon-les-Bains (16-10) on Saturday and was sacked.

A 16-10 victory for a league title.

For the first time in four years, the Flash de La Courneuve won the Diamond Helmet this Saturday.

"We're still celebrating," laughs Conor Miller, the team's American quarterback.

To achieve these scenes of joy, the Seine-Saint-Denis club had to overcome the Black Panthers of Thonon, who were playing at home.

“It was a very difficult match against a great opponent.

If we can beat such a team, it shows that we deserve to be champions, ”rejoices, again, the offensive leader.

The Black Panthers were the last winners of the championship in 2019, before the cancellation of the following two editions due to the pandemic.

For the Flash, victory represents more than the sporting success of a team, as the club tries to be important in its community.

"This victory is that of an entire club, a community, La Courneuve and 93," says the quarterback.

We fought for all of Seine-Saint-Denis and I hope they are proud of us”.

For the Flash, one of whose objectives is to "radiate the city", according to its general manager Bruno Lacam-Caron, it is therefore a successful mission.

According to Conor Miller, representing La Courneuve has a special flavor.

Arrived last January in France, the native of Florida is moved to offer a new title to the city.

“Bring the cup back to La Courneuve”

“This victory is everything for me.

Here, they have accepted us into their siblings, me and Ryan Smith (the other American on the team), he promises.

Now we are champions forever and no one can ever take that away from us!

".

Let's celebrate for the Flash.

It's time for Conor Miller to swap his native language for French: “We're bringing the cup back to La Courneuve!

".

La Courneuve thus consolidates its status as the most successful club in the French Championship (the first of its 12 titles dates back to 1997).

The Finals MVP award went to Flash running back Jason Bofunda.
