The controversy swells.
Since the first laps on the Red Bull Ring, the Austrian Grand Prix circuit, many testimonies have been pouring in on social networks, to denounce the inappropriate actions of many supporters.
These fans, often women, denounce racist, homophobic, misogynistic insults or even sexual and moral harassment in the stands of the Red Bull Ring.
In a statement posted this Sunday morning on Twitter, F1 reacted strongly and supported the victims: “We have been informed of reports that some fans have been the subject of completely unacceptable comments during the event.
We take this very seriously and have raised this issue with the promoter and security, before speaking to those who have reported these incidents.
This kind of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated and all fans should be treated with respect.

Hamilton says he is 'disgusted'
Whistled for several days by Dutch fans of Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton the seven-time world champion also expressed his anger over this controversy.
On his Instagram account, the Briton explained that he wanted sanctions against these people present in the stands.

Attending the Austrian Grand Prix or any other GP should never cause fans anxiety or pain.
Something must be done to ensure that races are held in conditions that are safe for everyone.

This Sunday, nearly 200,000 fans, including 50,000 Dutch, are expected at the Austrian Grand Prix.
