Daria Kasatkina: "Gay or lesbian in Russia? It will never be acceptable"
The Russian tennis player spoke openly about being bisexual: "As things are going right now, there is no chance of us seeing a woman with a woman on the street."

Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina, who is ranked 13th in the world and reached the Roland Garros semi-finals this year, declared last year that she is bisexual.
During a conversation with a friend this week, she said she has a partner right now and talked about intolerance towards the gay community in Russia.

"Choose, no one would choose to be gay and no one would choose to be a lesbian. It makes life a lot harder, especially in Russia, so why would anyone choose that?"
When asked when it would be legitimate for a man and a man to hold hands on a street in Russia or a woman and a woman, the tennis player replied: "Never. Judging by the way things are going now, then in life no. A little to the west. "
Kasatkina went on to say: "Living in the closet is impossible, probably in the long run. It's too hard.
