Robert Lewandowski has landed at his dream club with FC Barcelona.

The Polish press follows up after the transfer poker against FC Bayern.

Munich – Robert Lewandowski's move from FC Bayern to FC Barcelona has been the dominant theme in this summer of transfers in recent weeks.

Poison arrows flew back and forth between the three parties in this poker game, and the one-time success story between Bayern and Lewy degenerated into a mud fight.

The Pole publicly reproached his club and wanted to force a transfer to Spain.

But Bayern stayed firm for a long time and blocked the desired change.

Finally, the German record champions gave in at a transfer fee of 45 million euros plus five million bonuses and gave Lewandowski the go-ahead.

The interchangeable theater also reverberated a few days later.

While Lewandowski is now trying to calm things down and wants to “forget” the past few weeks, the Polish press is getting a breath and caustic against FC Bayern.

Lewandowski is revered as a folk hero in Poland.

Robert Lewandowski

Born: August 21, 1988 (age 33 years), Warsaw, Poland

Spouse: Anna Lewandowska (married 2013)

Old club: FC Bayern (2014 to 2022)

New club: FC Barcelona

Polish press follows up after Lewandowski transfer against FC Bayern: "Bosses make themselves ridiculous"

"For two months, it was repeatedly said that Robert Lewandowski was going nowhere, that he would stay at FC Bayern Munich, that he had to fulfill his contract, which ran until the end of June 2023," summarizes the Polish portal

Onet.pl

and is heavily critical the club management.

“Robert Lewandowski wanted to get away and achieved his goal.

Bayern Munich wanted to keep him, but the bosses just made themselves look ridiculous.” At least Oliver Kahn, Hasan Salihamidzic & Co. were able to use their tactics to increase the fee.

"In Germany, a tough campaign has been waged against our compatriot for a long time," writes the major tabloid

Fakt.

Fans, press and pundits would question Lewandowski's character.

"Serious?

Talking about the best foreign player in the history of the German league like that?” the newspaper asks rhetorically.

"Perhaps Lewy is the best player in the entire history of the Bundesliga!

Fans, agitated by successive hate articles from German journalists, often joined in the attack on the Polish footballer.

They said, among other things, that Robert was just a mercenary... That's crazy!"

Polish media: "Robert Lewandowski is and will remain a Bayern legend"

But not all Polish media put Bayern down.

"Robert Lewandowski is and will remain a Bayern legend.

The transfer to Barcelona and the circumstances surrounding it will not change anything,” writes

TVN 24.

Lewandowski himself recently stated that he would like to return to Munich soon to say goodbye to all colleagues and employees.

If you take a look at Lewandowski's time at Bayern, the Pole was a stroke of luck for Bayern - both sportingly and financially.

“Lewandowski came to Munich in the summer of 2014.

Bayern didn't pay a single zloty for him as his contract with Borussia Dortmund had just expired.

Even then it was clear that the change would be worthwhile for Bayern, but what the Pole did in their colors exceeded even the greatest optimists' expectations.
