  • Fifteen different teams have been represented by Israel in the UEFA factories since 1992. The highlight is Maccabi Tel Aviv, for which this is the 23rd season in Europe and the 10th in a row. Maccabi Haifa is now starting the 21st campaign.

  • Out of the 15 representatives in the mainland factories, five are currently in the national league: Hapoel Petah Tikva, Hapoel Rishon Lezion, Hapoel Ramat Gan, Maccabi Petah Tikva and Bnei Yehuda.

  • The Israeli teams participated five times in the home stage of the Champions League: Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv twice each and Hapoel Tel Aviv once.

The last visit was to Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2015/16 (without points and with a single goal on penalties), the best achievement belongs to Maccabi Haifa in the historic performance in 2002/03 (third place) and also the worst of the Greens: no points and no goals in -2009/10.

  • Maccabi Tel Aviv leads in the number of appearances in the home stages of the various factories with eight increases.

It is followed by Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Tel Aviv with six appearances each, Hapoel Beer Sheva has done it three times and Maccabi Petah Tikva and Kiryat Shmona also have one home stage on their resume.

  • Maccabi Haifa is the only one that participated in the home stage of four different factories: the Champions League, the UEFA Cup, the European League and the Conference League. Maccabi Tel Aviv did not reach the houses during the UEFA Cup, Hapoel Tel Aviv has not yet experienced the Conference League.

  • The record achievement of an Israeli representative in a European factory is the quarterfinals: Maccabi Haifa in the 1998/99 Cup and Hapoel Tel Aviv in the 2001/02 Cup.

  • Israel's top ranking in the UEFA was 15th place, following which we received two representations in the 2004/05 Champions League qualifiers.

  • Maccabi Haifa has signed the highest victory of an Israeli team in Europe: 0: 8 over Hazar Lankran in an away game in Azerbaijan in July 2013, as part of the Europa League qualifiers.

  • The Greens then passed with 0:10 in total and failed to break the record of Maccabi Petah Tikva, which defeated the Macedonian Shakimi 0:11 in the sum of the pair of games in the 2005 UEFA Cup qualifiers (0: 6 at home and 0: 5 away).

  • The record loss belongs to Hapoel Beer Sheva, which went to the Netherlands after a 4: 1 loss at Wassermill and was defeated 10: 0 by Ruda in the rematch in the first round of the 1997 Cup Winners' Cup.

  • The Israeli teams met rivals from all member states of the UEFA, except for the newcomers Gibraltar and Kosovo.

  • Olympiacos, Maccabi Haifa's rival in the Champions League qualifiers, will reach eight games this season against the Israeli delegation, thus equaling another team from Greece that has been the highest so far - PAOK Thessaloniki.

Pauk was also drawn against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League playoffs in 2013, but then the games were not held as the Greeks were relegated to the Champions League playoffs due to the suspension of Metalist Kharkiv).

  • Hapoel Ramat Gan is the only team that played in Europe while in the national league.

It happened in 2003 after winning the trophy as the second division team and a decade later when it won the trophy in a season of relegation from the Premier League.

  • Hapoel Ramat Gan is also the only Israeli team that failed to find the net in its continental games: two losses (4: 0 and 1: 0) against Levski Sofia and a loss (1: 0) and a zero draw against Ashtoril.

  • Hapoel Tel Aviv has achieved the most victories over teams from the top five leagues.

She had six of them: against Chelsea, Parma, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Hattafa and Hamburg.

  • Only once did an Israeli team win a penalty shootout in the European Cups, and that was Maccabi Tel Aviv about six years ago with 3: 4 over the tightening split that arranged for it to enter the home stage of the Europa League.

Maccabi Haifa lost on penalties to Parma, Genk and Noma Kalio (in three different factories) and to Hapoel Tel Aviv it happened against Stromsgoodst.

  • The longest wait between campaigns belongs to MS.

Ashdod, which made its debut in 2005 (two draws against Domzale in the UEFA Cup qualifiers) and waited 16 years to return to Europe the previous summer (draw and loss to Karabakh in the Conference League qualifiers).

  • The first Israeli goal in the Champions League houses was scored by Yaniv Katan, who stunned in the eighth minute at Old Trafford with a kick between the legs of Fabian Bartez in the debut game of Maccabi Haifa, almost 20 years ago.

Manchester United recovered then, on 18 September 2002, and won 2: 5.

  • The top scorer of the Israeli teams in Europe is Eran Zehavi with 21 conquests.

He is also the only one to score in the home stage of the Champions League in the uniform of two different Israeli teams.

  • Zehavi also holds the Israeli record for one campaign: eight goals in the Maccabi Tel Aviv uniform in 2015/16 (seven in the qualifiers and one in the Champions League).

He had the same balance, by the way, in the PSV Eindhoven uniform last season.

  • Before him were two champions: Alon Mizrahi (seven goals in the Maccabi Haifa games in the 1998/99 Cup) and Omar Golan (seven goals in the Maccabi Petah Tikva campaign in the 2005 UEFA Cup).

  • Mizrahi is the only representative of an Israeli team that is in the top 10 of conquerors in any factory, with 15 goals in the cup that he holds the peace (in only 19 appearances).

The plane is in 10th place and in front of it are names like Hristo Stoichkov, Gerd Müller, Gianluca Viali and Rob Ransbrink who stood at the top with 25 goals.

  • Golan is the only one to score more than one hat-trick in Europe.

He did it in the home 0: 6 of Maccabi Petah Tikva over Bashkimi of Macedonia and then also in the mighty 2: 5 in Belgrade over Partizan in 2005.

  • Apart from him, there were six others who scored a hat-trick, four of them made by Maccabi Haifa: Alon Mizrahi vs. Klakswick in 1995, Yaniv Katan vs. Haka in 2001 (which later became a technical loss), Yaakov Eigbani vs. Olympiacos in 2002 and the last one is Yiam Amasha vs. Boratz in 2011.

Stefan Shalui signed for Betar Jerusalem's only hat-trick (at 1: 4 at home to Torshavn in 1998) and Baruch Dego for that of Maccabi Tel Aviv (at 0: 6 against Zalgiris in 2001).

  • The first goal of an Israeli team in Europe was signed by the late Manny Besson, who scored a double in Hapoel Petah Tikva's 0: 2 victory in Norway over Stromsgodst in the cup qualifiers held in the summer of 1992.

  • The first foreigner to score in the uniform of an Israeli team in the European factories was Sergei Kandaurov, who was honored in the second goal of Maccabi Haifa in the 1: 6 home win over Dudelange from Luxembourg in the cup qualifiers.

A few minutes later, on the evening of September 1, 1993, Vladimir Gershneiv went on his way when he was accurate from the penalty spot and gave Betar Jerusalem 0: 2 over Zimbro Kishinev in the Champions League qualifiers.

  • The top performer among the players of the Israeli teams is Walid Badir with 91 games.

He is followed by two active players who can improve their balance in the coming weeks: Eitan Tibi with 78 and Sharan Yeni with 75.

  • Badir was also the first to appear with two different teams in the home stage of the Champions League.

  • Eran Levy is the youngest Israeli player to participate in the European Cups, and his record holds for almost 20 years.

On August 7, 2002, when he was 17 and three days old, Levy came in as a substitute in the 85th minute in Maccabi Haifa's 0: 1 victory over Belshina in the Champions League qualifier held in Belarus.

  • The oldest also comes from Maccabi Haifa: Alon Harazi against Bordeaux in the Champions League.

He entered the final 19 minutes on December 8, 2009 when he was 38 and 298 days old, in what was his retirement game.

He is followed by Salah Hasarma, Badir and his uncle who was deported.
