Washington, SANA- Kazakh runner Nora Jiroto won the gold medal in the three-thousand-meter steeplechase.

Kazakhstan's Nora Jiroto won the gold medal in the 3000m steeplechase at the 18th World Championships in Athletics.

The 26-year-old Girotto clocked the race with a time of 8.53.02 minutes, setting a new record for the world championships held in Pugin, USA, while the silver went to the Ethiopian and got it to gettacho with a time of 8.54.61 minutes, setting a national record.

The bronze medal went to the other Ethiopian, Mikidis Abebe, with a time of 8.56.08.
