Sébastien Haller, who has testicular cancer, posted a photo of himself on Instagram on Thursday, along with a positive message about his state of health.
“Good evening everyone, I wanted to inform you that the 1st step has been accomplished!
I want to thank Borussia Dortmund and the medical team who have been exceptional with me.
A big thank you also to all the nursing staff of the hospital for their support and their benevolence, ”wrote the Ivorian international without specifying whether he had undergone a first operation.

Monday evening, Borussia Dortmund, his new club, announced that the center forward had a tumor in the testicles.
The former Ajax Amsterdam player had been admitted to a specialized medical center according to the German club.
Many messages of support have been sent to him since.
"The whole BVB family wishes Sébastien a full recovery as soon as possible and that we can hug him again soon," said BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
