19-year-old Russian wrestler Akhmed Gelichev was killed in the Kabardino-Balkaria mountains in the North Caucasus, southwest Russia.
TASS news agency reported that the wrestler fell into a narrow path in the Elbrus region, where the Russian youth freestyle wrestling team is organizing a training camp, noting that the young wrestler decided to make an independent climb to Mount Boca Bashi before falling into the pass from a height of 2500 meters.
The rescue team was able to reach his body.
Gelichev won the bronze medal in the Russian Freestyle Wrestling Championship and was a member of the Russian youth team and the Saint Petersburg team.
