The youth team will leave this weekend for Izmir, Turkey, with Israeli security guards due to the sensitive security situation in the country, and will start the European Under-18 Championship on Saturday.
"Our goal in the championship is, first of all, to stay in Tier A," said coach Elad Hassin.
"But we don't want to look only at that, but to make the best result we can, promote the players, and also have fun. Our guys don't have too much European experience, but we don't use that as an excuse and want to represent Israel with respect. I told the players that we are preparing for the nine-day war."

The national team has high hopes for Noam Yaakov, a player of Villerban and the great star of Israel.
"Noam is a very talented boy, hungry and professional at the highest levels. He is a leading player in our team and we expect a lot from him, not only on the field but also at the leadership level. We trust him," concluded the coach.
