In four days, Nice will host Maccabi Tel Aviv for the rematch of the Conference League playoffs with a 1:0 deficit from the first game in Bloomfield. The pressure gauge for the French team rose even more today (Sunday) after another loss, this time in the French league to Clermont.
Lucien Fabre, coach of Nice, made five changes compared to the team that lost to Vladimir Ivić's group.
The winning goal for the host came already in the 6th minute when Seif-Edin Xavi subdued Kasper Schmeichel, when Clermont knew how to keep the advantage until the end.
Nice finished the game with 9 men after midfielder Mario Lemina (80) and stopper Jean-Clair Todivo (82) were sent off.
