At the age of 42, he returned to the St. Louis Cardinals for a clear goal - to bring them another championship • Along the way, he breaks records in every game in which he steps on the field

The Last Dance:

The MLB league went through many upheavals and developments over the years, and at every stage it was always accompanied by one player who symbolized an entire generation.

The current generation was accompanied by Albert Poholz, who managed to place himself in the conversation with the greatest.

This season, at the age of 42, Puholz returned to the St. Louis Cardinals team where he started his career, with the goal of bringing them one more championship.

Along the way, he continues to break records in almost every game.

Tonight (Sunday) in a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks Poholoz hit two home runs in one game, passing Willie Mays for fifth place all-time.

Also, tonight he passed Stan Musial in the total number of bases he collected throughout his career, with 6141 and placed himself in second place.

In one of the games before that, he hit a grand slam (a home run with the bases loaded), placing himself in 16th place in such hits, while he is tied with Hank Aaron, Dave Kingman (who was not elected to the Hall of Fame) and Babe Ruth, among the greatest hitters of all time in the MLB.

Today Puholz, with his 692 home runs, stands fourth all-time behind Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755), Babe Ruth (714) and Alex Rodriguez (696).

Here's where things get heated: Two of the list, Rodriguez and Bonds, will likely not enter the Hall of Fame, for the simple reason that they were caught using performance-enhancing substances (PEDs), symbolizing all that was impure in the game of baseball in the 1990s and early 2000s.

However, their records stand.

Poholz will overtake Rodriguez in the coming weeks and now the goal is to reach the prestigious number 700.

The fans are all keeping their fingers crossed for him, as there is no doubt that the path he took in the league in the last 21 seasons was correct and admirable.

Furthermore, the claim is in his favor that if it weren't for the shortened Corona season, he would have crossed the 700 mark a long time ago.

If Poholz does decide to retire at the end of this season, he could end it very close to hitting home run number 700 and still be remembered among the greatest to ever play the game.

His place in the Hall of Fame is guaranteed, and not only does he continue to hit the beat, but he also contributes significantly to the team's chances of bringing another championship this season.

The fans all watch with great anticipation every time he goes up to bat.

Still, it's not every day you get to watch a living legend.
