The Italian Domenico Acarenza won the 10 km open water of the European Championships on Sunday, in Ostia, in the suburbs of Rome, ahead of the French Marc-Antoine Olivier and Logan Fontaine.
Silver medalist the day before in the 5 km, Acarenza took over the French duo, in the lead in the last kilometer, to win in 1h50′33′'6 with three seconds ahead of Olivier and five seconds over Fontaine.
Olivier also gleans his second medal after bronze in the 5 km.
