Champions League schedule published: date set for Lewandowski's return to Munich

UEFA has announced the match schedule for the new Champions League season.
FC Bayern Munich meets Lewandowski's Barcelona in September.
Munich – The groups of the new Champions League season have been drawn.
And from FC Bayern Munich's point of view, the constellation is exactly what you probably secretly wanted: In the preliminary round it's against FC Barcelona and Robert Lewandowski!
The Pole moved to Catalonia in the summer after an almost endlessly long exchange theater.
He even said afterwards that he would prefer to avoid his ex-club in the Champions League group stage.
Nothing came of it: Bayern and Barcelona face each other on the second and fifth day of the CL season.
UEFA announced this after the game plan was initially delayed.

FC Bayern starts the Champions League season against Inter Milan
FC Bayern opens its premier class round with a guest appearance at Inter Milan (September 7th).
Lewandowski will then come to the Allianz Arena (September 13) with his Blaugrana, before Munich expect Viktoria Pilsen on October 4.
This game is the only one that kicks off at 6:45 p.m. - all others start at 9 p.m.
From October 12th, the second leg is coming up: Bayern visit Pilsen, then Barcelona (October 26th) and finally the home game against Inter (November 1st).
The round of 16 of the Champions League will then be drawn on November 7th, the knockout round will start in the new year on November 14th/15th.

Champions League: tough program for players and clubs
It's clear at a glance: It's going to be a tough program that the CL participants have to complete this fall.
Normally, the group phase does not end until December, but the 2022 schedule will be postponed due to the World Cup in Qatar.
The World Championship begins on November 20th and lasts until December 18th.
The national leagues are of course interrupted during this period, from November 11th to 13th the ball rolls for the last time in the Bundesliga WM so at least take a breather.
At least if they are employed in Germany.
Because the English Premier League knows almost no break.
December 26th is the almost holy Boxing Day, around New Year's Eve and January 2nd there should also be games.

FC Bayern is still looking forward to the tasks ahead.
Oliver Kahn, that became clear during the draw, is looking forward to seeing Lewandowski again.
The Bayern boss laughed as Barca were drawn - a reaction absurdly resented in Spain.
