Five days before the European Championship, the Israeli national team will host the Swedish national team tomorrow (Sunday) at the Shlomo Group Hall for an important and critical battle, as part of the preliminaries of the World Championship.
Guy Goodes' students come to the match after the painful 79:73 loss in Finland last week, and know that they must win the game in front of the home crowd if they want to keep the dream of qualifying for the World Championship alive in a year.
The coach of the national team, Guy Goodes, said in the final training session: "We are not thinking about the European Championship right now, only about the game tomorrow.
This is a critical game that we must win in order to maintain a chance for a ticket to the World Championship.'
"The small amount of minutes Danny Avdia got in Finland? A coach's professional decision. I prefer to look at the entire team and not at individuals."
Goodes added: "We weren't up to speed against Finland and we didn't do things we wanted to, that needs to be fixed. Gal Mekel? It's not an easy situation, he's very important to us and we'll have to put him in the game."

The team's center, Jake Cohen, shared: "We are confident in ourselves despite the loss. We are not happy about the way we played because we know it is a game we should have won. I am happy that we have another opportunity to meet them and correct the impression."
Cohen added: "To be worried because of the loss? No need, they are an excellent team. We will learn from the mistakes and meet them again prepared, the loss was a kind of wake-up call for us."
