Kerstin Fahl achieved great success at the DM in sport shooting.

The air rifle shooter from Prem won team gold.

Other shooters from the region also cheered.

Prem/Munich – The German Sport Shooting Championships have started.

And traditionally, the airgunners are first in line.

At the start on the Olympic shooting range in Hochbrück, two athletes from the district had reason to be happy.

Kerstin Fahl won the gold medal with the FSG "Der Bund" Allach in the team ranking of the women's I class.

With 1877.4 points, the Munich trio was well ahead of SSV St. Hubertus Elsen (1874.5) from Westphalia and KKSV Heitersheim (1874.0) from Baden.

Fahl contributed 622.8 points to the team victory.

In the individual ranking, this meant 31st place among 146 participants.

For him it was the first men's title in an Olympic decision.

"Success means a lot to me.

I've felt a lot of pressure throughout the year, and I've been performing well lately.

But this title is of course the crowning glory, it can't get any better than that," the Wilzhofener is quoted as saying on the DSB website.

In the end, Doreen Vennekamp (SV Kriftel/Hessen), who came third in the 2018 World Cup, was slightly better with 37 goals than Karsch, who had 35 goals.
