Scenes of rare violence in Sweden took place on Sunday evening in the stadium at the Friends Arena, which unfortunately bore its name badly, between Ultras from the Stockholm clubs of AIK Solna and Hammarby IF (2-2).
Many masked or hooded supporters then hit each other using pyrotechnic devices.
“It's sad and completely unacceptable for Swedish football. We are going to carry out a joint action with the police”
, explained the president of the AIK Manuel Lindberg.
A total chaos which required an urgent intervention of the Stockholm police.
An investigation will be opened to identify the main suspects of these scuffles by analyzing images from CCTV cameras.
“It's really boring for Swedish football; to believe that this event is too good for them and that they want to destroy the two clubs. This concerns both sides
,” lamented the AIK security official.
In the championship standings, Hammarby remains in second place, while AIK is now in fourth position.
