The mountain run to the Heimgarten has it all.

Athletes from the district showed strong performances on the demanding route - above all two Peißenberger.

Ohlstadt – Whoever gets to the top of the Heimgarten mountain run has really achieved something.

On the 5.2 kilometers from Ohlstadt via Bärenfleck and Feichtel, 1000 meters in altitude have to be overcome.

A gigantic challenge, but several women and men from the district solved it excellently at the 35th edition.

Two of the local athletes even made it into the top ten of a total of 81 starters at the SC Murnau event.

Josef Streicher finished seventh overall after just 49:30 minutes.

The runner from TSV Peißenberg thus won the M55 class.

Streicher recently won the silver medal at the Bavarian Mountain Running Championships on Tegelberg.

At the Heimgartenlauf 2019 – after which Corona prevented it from being held – Streicher needed 2:50 minutes longer.

However, the route was around 600 meters longer at the time;

a mudslide and woodwork had made a detour necessary.

Franz Engel crossed the finish line just ten seconds behind Streicher.

The athlete from Post SV Weilheim is one of the regular participants in the Heimgarten mountain run.

49:40 minutes meant eighth place overall and second place in the M55 class.

Rupert Haseidl (51:53 minutes/12th place) from ESV Bad Bayersoien and Max Brugger (52:17/14th place) from SC Huglfing also made it into the top 15 overall.

Florian Zeisler provided the best time of the day.

The man from Axams (Tyrol) was in a class of his own with a time of 40:37 minutes.

Marcel Krieghoff (42:56) from SC Impuls Erfurt and Telfser Philipp Brugger (42:56) finished second and third.

The winner of 2019, Andreas Posch (WSV Bad Tölz), took fourth place with 44:49 minutes.

The fastest woman was Britta Reid (Triathlon Club Nelson), who finished eleventh after 51:34 minutes.

Born in Hanover, Reid used to be a successful triathlete and recorded three Ironman victories between 2012 and 2014.

Franz Engel second in M55 class

One of those who completed the route up to Heimgarten in less than 60 minutes was Marcus Breier from SC Huglfing.

The time of 59:48 minutes earned him second place in the M45 class.

Obersöchering's Andreas Kohlhund (60:08) stayed just over the one-hour mark - he was fourth among the M35 athletes.

M60 runner Christof Wortmann (62:11/5th place) from Post SV Weilheim and M55 starter Helmut Stork (62:24/8th place) crossed the finish line in close succession.

In the women's category, a duo from Post SV Weilheim took second and third place in the W55 class: Petra Schanz (63:59) and Angelika Berchtold (66:28).

Wildsteigerin Jacqueline Brans (69:00) was only 48 seconds behind winner Christine Schindler (MBB-SG Augsburg) in the W50 class.

The Neusäß native won the 10-kilometer race at the Weilheimer Aulauf in 2015 and 2017.

Ludwig Höfler (75) from Burggen once again presented himself as strong on the mountain.

He covered the distance to Heimgarten in 85:31 minutes.

The M75 victory was virtually “free home” because no other athlete had started in his class.
