Bernhard Budik and Alexandra Haupt secured overall victory at the St. Heinrich Cup, which is part of the Starnberg Lake Championship.

St. Heinrich

- On their "Surprise C'est la vie" they had a lead of 42 seconds over second-placed Christoph Müller and his team.

Ute Klockau was able to confidently take home the Roman Strobl Memorial Prize, which was advertised in the multihull class.

20 monohulls and five catamarans racing

20 monohull boats competed in the St. Heinrich Yacht Club race.

In addition, five catamarans hoisted the sails to sail out the Roman Strobl Memorial Prize.

At 11.30 a.m. the starting shot was given in weak wind conditions and all boats set off on a triangular course in the southern lake area off Ambach, Bernried and Seeshaupt.

Andreas and Christoph Müller with an optimal start

After an optimal, precise start by Christoph Müller on his "Streamline", it didn't take long for two monohull boats to break away from the group.

Andreas Müller on his "Magic" and Christoph Müller led the field as soon as they rounded the first ton, closely followed by Ute Klockau on her catamaran "Nacra Infusion".

At the buoy set in front of Ambach, they had significantly increased their lead.

After around two hours, both monohull ships crossed the finish line first, with a narrow margin.

The battle for overall victory was not yet over.

Due to the freshening wind, all participants fought a close race.

"You can also sail a regatta when it's calm"

Despite moderate and difficult wind conditions, the race director and first chairman of the St. Heinrich Yacht Club, Markus Mooser, was satisfied after the end of the race.

“You can also sail a regatta when there is no wind.

Good sailors sail even when there is no wind,” was his summary of a successful event.
