Former football world champion Thomas Häßler is on the mend after health problems.
According to the circumstances, he is doing well, the 56-year-old told the "Bild".
"I'm not terminally ill, but unfortunately the causes are still unclear."
After a loss of memory and tinnitus, Hässler is currently unable to do his job as coach of Berlin's sixth division club BFC Preussen.
The 56-year-old had to cancel a speech before the game at Hilalspor on the second day of the game due to health problems.
“All of a sudden my thoughts were gone.
I didn't know what I wanted to tell the team beforehand," reported Hässler.
Born in Berlin and nicknamed “Icke”, he underwent intensive medical examinations.
“I'm curious to see what the evaluations will reveal next week.
I was turned upside down in almost every department of a doctor's house in Charlottenburg," said Hässler.
He spoke to many people and the word burnout was also mentioned because of similar symptoms.
Hässler receives support from the club and is combative
Many of his world champion colleagues from 1990, such as Rudi Völler, Pierre Littbarski, Andreas Brehme and Thomas Berthold, called him and wished him a speedy recovery.
The sympathy is overwhelming and gives him a lot of strength, said Hässler.
"I am a fighter.
I want to get this done and get back on the sidelines as soon as possible,” he said.
The club reacted to Hässler's illness and hired Daniel Volbert as a substitute coach until further notice.
'We're not releasing him.
Thomas will always be a Prussian and I hope he'll come back to us soon," said Prussia's sporting director Pierre Seiffert.
