Special envoy to Royan
They found more enlightened than them in the Charente night.
Achille Nebout (
Amarris-Primeo Energie
) and Tom Laperche (
Team Bretagne-CMB Performance
), respectively second and third on the finish line behind Guillaume Pirouelle, kept smiling as they set foot in Royan and were very comfortable.
For Achille Nebout, it was his most successful stage in four participations:
“I'm proud to have sailed so well throughout the stage.
I passed the raz de Sein in the lead and stayed in the lead almost all the time.
This year, I'm in a good frame of mind, having made good progress on the boat.
Confident in my speed and in my choices.”
For everyone, the final miles were convoluted:
“I was a little scared at the end.
We knew it was going to be complicated on the descent to Royan, with small fronts and forecast storms.
However, something had to happen.
I understood in all this that a west-southwest wind…
