The Paris Taekwondo Grand Prix, considered one of the most prestigious tournaments in the industry, which brings together the top 31 fighters in the world in every Olympic weight category and the top 12 in the Paralympic weights, kicks off tomorrow (Friday) with the participation of the Israeli delegation.
The competition will take place until next Monday, when for the first time the Israeli national team will have a large and distinguished delegation of six athletes who will take part in the competition.
Already on the opening day, the Olympic bronze medalist Avishag Samberg will take part in the weight up to 49 kg, Rivka Bayich 49 kg and Dima Nagiv 58 kg. On Saturday (3.9) Nimrod Krivitsky will participate in the weight up to 68 kg, on Sunday ( 4.9) Dana Azran 73+ kg will participate and on Monday (5.9) Assaf Yassur 58 kg (paralympic) will close the competition.
The men and women fighters are accompanied by the national coach Yachiam Sharabi, the coach of the Israeli national team Bat El Geterer and the masseuse Antonio Arbid.
Yehuda Maayan, chairman of the taekwondo union, said before the opening shot: "The national taekwondo team is growing and getting stronger every day.
It is a great honor that six athletes from the team made the criterion and entered the top 31 in the world in each category.
