After two draws in a row, 1. FC Heidenheim won 2-1 (1-0) against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Friday evening and thus at least temporarily took the lead in the 2nd Bundesliga.
Nuremberg and Braunschweig are much further behind, with at least Braunschweig taking a small step forward with the 4:2 (2:2) victory.
The Franks, on the other hand – traded by many experts as one of the favorites for promotion – are not moving.
A strong performance in Braunschweig at the beginning was not enough to win a point.
The Braunschweiger, on the other hand, are happy about their first win of the season.
Both teams had a good start to the season, but Heidenheim got the points.
An own goal by Matthias Zimmermann (23') gave FCH the lead, Tim Kleindienst (87') scored the late winning goal.
Dawid Kownacki equalized in the 59th minute.
In the beginning, Düsseldorf acted a little more compellingly in front of 9468 spectators.
Kownacki was already past FCH goalkeeper Kevin Müller, but the Pole missed the chance to open the scoring from a tight angle (15').
Heidenheim did better after a corner, albeit with a bit of luck: Adrian Beck and Zimmermann fought for the ball in the scramble at the far post, the decisive contact came from the Düsseldorfer's stomach.
Beck came very close to scoring his own goal in the 56th minute, when he took a shot from 20 meters and failed to hit the crossbar.
Düsseldorf got better and countered after a corner with Kownacki equalizing, who had no trouble from a few meters.
The Heidenheim winning goal by Kleindienst fell happily overall.
Played well, but still lost: After a dominant start, the »Club« from Nuremberg lost 2:4 (2:2) to Braunschweig, who had previously been unbeaten at the bottom of the table.
FCN took the lead twice through Jens Castrop (10th minute) and Kwadwo Duah (29th).
Eintracht only came back twice due to carelessness in Nuremberg when Fabio Kaufmann (13th) and Anthony Ujah (44th) counterattacked.
In the second half, Braunschweig suddenly turned up the heat and scored with a dream goal from Immanuel Pherai (59th) and the second goal from the strong Kaufmann (62nd).
The late Nuremberg rebellion had no effect.
