Lengdorf's marksman was unlucky with his weapons at the DM.

After that he gets gold, silver and bronze.

Lengdorf/Hochbrück

– "Deafs a bisserl mehra sei?" Unfortunately no.

At the German championships, Maxi Dallinger from Lengdorf was on course for gold with the air rifle, but then he was disqualified – because he was 31 grams overweight.

In order: The 25-year-old had a spotless competition and was in first place after the competition with 628.5 points.

During the subsequent follow-up check, it was found that his gun was 31 grams too heavy.

As a result, he was disqualified.

"Three weeks ago I swapped weights," explains Dallinger.

An air rifle should weigh 5500 grams.

The heavier the weapon, the more sluggish it is and easier to hold still, he explains.

So you make the rifle heavier with add-on weights.

"I exchanged one of them because the old one was loose - but it wasn't identical in construction." He measured the spare part on his own scales.

"I thought I still had a buffer, but I probably forgot an add-on part when I weighed myself in." Dallinger is annoyed about his mishap, "because I would have liked to have taken the final with me".

At least the qualification with the good result was good training with regard to the World Cup in October.

His reaction after the disqualification: "These are not my championships this year".

The day before he had gone to the shooting range for the Munich Bund in the KK 3 x 20 shots discipline.

In the first round he was in second place with 588 points.

In qualifying for the final everything was fine after kneeling and prone, but in the standing stage a thread on the pistol grip broke and he fell back to twelfth place with 584 points.

Two rings were missing to reach the final.

But you just have to be patient.

Dallinger then achieved his first top placing with bronze in the KK prone competition with 626.0 points.

And on the fourth day of the competition, the knot finally burst.

In the new Olympic discipline air rifle mixed team, he won the title for Bavaria together with Hanna Bühlmeyer.

The two had already led in the preliminary fight.

In the final, they won the title against Team Rheinland 2.

Gold would also have been possible with the small caliber rifle in the discipline 3 x 20 shots.

The man from Lengdorf led for a long time before he only had 192 points in standing and Kai Dembeck passed him.

However, 589 rings brought in silver.

"A complete set of medals - the yield is good," Dallinger sums up, "even though I would of course have liked to have shot in the finals of the Olympic competitions." Incidentally, the rifle mishap has no further consequences, the squads for the World and European Championships have long been nominated.

The Lengdorfer Isental-Schützen also celebrated another German champion.

Kerstin Fahl became German team champion with the air rifle team from the Bund Munich with 1877.4 points.

In the individual ranking, Fahl took 31st place with 622.8 points.

“During the first shots, Kerstin had difficulties finding her way into the competition.

Only after her home trainer Gerhard Obermaier took her aside and showed her a plan of action did the competition run perfectly with high scores," says the club's website, who is also happy about fourth place from rifle champion Hubert Dallinger.

He competed in the men's IV air rifle for SG Moosen.

In the line-up of Josef Mutlitz (396.9 points), Anton Kronseder (374.1) and Hubert Dallinger (390.2), they were only 0.9 points short of third place.

Further reports on the DM in Hochbrück will follow.
