Three months after the memorable 5-0 derby victory including relegation, TSV Gräfelfing is back at SV Planegg-Krailling.

The starting position is the same - and yet completely different.

Planegg/Gräfelfing - It's the same place, it's the same table constellation and it's the same clubs: When fourth-placed SV Planegg-Krailling receives tenth-placed TSV Gräfelfing in the football district league for a derby on Sunday (3 p.m.), both sides will certainly come the memories up again.

Memories of a very special duel between the opponents a good three months ago.

TSV Gräfelfing celebrates staying up in the district league thanks to a 5-0 win in Planegg

Back then, on the last day of the 2021/22 season, the wolves, who were threatened with relegation, drove to Hofmarkstraße in tenth place in the table to prevent them from going into the district class at the last minute.

The favorite SVP, on the other hand, who is fourth in the table, only played for the gallery - but then didn't do exactly that.

Because the Planeggers, who seemed listless at times, had nothing to oppose the guests: Gräfelfing celebrated a memorable 5-0 derby victory and at the same time stayed up in the league on the pitch of the local rivals.

Andreas Budell still has the images in his head.

"That was a board at home," says the assistant coach of the SVP, who will stand in for the sick head coach Manuel Eisgruber on the sidelines again on Sunday.

Budell reckons Wolves will want to take the memories of the dismantling back then as an extra boost to turn their mediocre start to the season with one point from two games into a solid one.

Derby: Coaches expect support from the ranks again

Sven Lechner confirms that. "You should always make something like that an issue," says the Gräfelfingen assistant coach.

Budell does not expect a similarly euphoric mood as three months ago in the ranks this time.

After all, the second team of the TSV sat there, which had been promoted to the district class immediately before and had the upper hand.

But he is already counting on 50 to 100 fans from the neighboring town.

Lechner cannot estimate how many there will actually be.

In particular, he expects support from his own second team this time.

After all, the reserves of both teams meet in Planegg immediately before the first teams - so the little wolves are already there.

SV Planegg vs. TSV Gräfelfing: Personal must not be an excuse

"We'll try to be there earlier to watch them, and in return we naturally hope that they'll stay for our game," says Lechner, who will be on the sidelines for the second time in a row on Sunday. while head coach Sascha Polecki has to look after the TSV box again because Kai Kollo is still injured.

But that's not a problem, says Lechner and adds with a smile: "He held the last game quite well."

The defense is not the Achilles heel of the wolves this year anyway, but the attack.

The goal difference after two games is 0:1.

"The self-image and the necessary luck are missing at the front," says Lechner.

He hopes that the knot bursts in the derby.

The Planeggers don't have an offensive problem on paper, they scored five goals in two games this season.

Nevertheless, Budell says: "We have to make better use of our chances." Perhaps the returnee David Velickovski will also help.

Overall, both opponents are very well positioned in terms of personnel.

So this time there are no excuses.
