The International Wrestling Federation awarded Russian wrestlers Bilal Makhov and Iran's Kamil Ghasemi the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

The Iranian news agency IRNA reported that the Minister of Sports and Youth and the Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Iran received the Olympic gold medal for wrestler Kamil Qassemi during a three-day visit to the Swiss city of Lausanne.

Uzbekistan's Artur Taymazov and Georgian David Mudzmanashvili were stripped of their medals and the semi-final losers Makhov and Kasmi were awarded gold medals.

Earlier, the doping tests of Taimazov, the gold medalist in wrestling in the under 120 kg category at the London Olympics 2012, and Georgian Mudzmanashvili, the Olympic silver medalist, revealed violations of anti-doping rules.
