For the first time since the establishment of the Jerusalem stadium, 6,700 chairs were replaced in the north stand with new chairs, the same color as the rest of the stands • Mayor Moshe Leon: "These days we are vigorously promoting the construction of the green train line"

The Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem is getting ready to host the Jerusalem derby between Beitar and Hapoel Jerusalem, which will be held on Monday next week (8:30 p.m.), as part of the fourth round of the Premier League. This will be the first game of the 2022/23 season to be held at the Teddy.

The Jerusalem Municipality, through the municipal company 'Ariel', which is responsible for the management and operation of the stadium, recently completed the replacement of approximately 6,700 chairs in the north stand with new chairs, the same color as the rest of the stands in the stadium.

The meaning: starting with the upcoming derby and for the first time since the stadium was established in the 90s, all the chairs at Teddy will have a uniform color.

Teddy Stadium has about 31,700 seats.

In addition, as part of the works at the stadium, infrastructure was upgraded and advanced irrigation systems were installed, under the grass.

Also, intensive works were carried out to restore the grass and return it to its normal state, after hosting the opening ceremony of the 21 games that took place in Teddy last July.

On another issue, the opening to traffic of Highway 16, Jerusalem's new entrance road, will improve accessibility to the Teddy Stadium for those coming from outside of Jerusalem, as well as shorten the arrival times to the parking lots adjacent to the stadium that are available to fans and their children: the Biblical Zoo parking lot, the Technological Garden parking lot in Malha, the train parking lot, Egged parking lot and more.

The Mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon: "In recent years, we have invested a lot in the Teddy Stadium and in the entire Sports Kiryat, this with a view to the future and the promotion of sports in the city. These days we are vigorously promoting the construction of the green train line, which will pass through the Sports Kiryat in Malha and significantly improve the accessibility experience to the stadiums in Kiryat." .
