With the aim of selecting qualified players to participate in the second Paralympic Games for the Wounded Home, sports tests for the wounded were launched today in the governorates of Damascus, Damascus Countryside, Quneitra and As-Suwayda.
The Wounded Al-Watan project clarified on its Facebook page that the tests will include the rest of the governorates, respectively, within the sports cities, where the committee supervising the tests will select the players participating in the tournament according to two criteria. Or almost total disability percentages of 40% or more. As for the second criterion, it is related to the results of numbers and times set by the Special Sports Federation based on local numbers and the results of the First Wounded Home Games.
The project indicated that the wounded who meet the Paralympic participation criterion and the numerical and temporal criteria will be able to participate in the second Paralympic Games for the Wounded Homeland, while the wounded whose injuries do not meet the Paralympic standards will have the opportunity to participate in the sports clubs of the General Sports Federation for free.
The project announced on the 21st of last March the start of conducting sports tests for the wounded in various governorates under the supervision of a specialized committee that assesses the sports wounded according to international standards for private sports federations.
