Two more teams joined the circle of pre-season games this evening (Monday), when Hapoel Jerusalem defeated Hapoel Eilat 59:64 in a match.
The teams agreed in advance on a shortened game, with each of the four quarters lasting only eight minutes.
Jerusalem started with Speedy Smith, Levi Randolph, Or Cornelius, Oz Blazer and Zach Hankins, Eilat with Scott Machado, Jared Terrell, Nathaniel Artzi, Nate Grimes and Eric Griffin.
The Reds activated Hankins in the paint, who hit his first four shots from the field and led a 0:10 run during the quarter en route to a 15:20 lead.
Kadin Carrington had already opened a 12-point lead, before Grimes started working in the paint and together with Terrell and Amit Gershon, who buried two three-pointers, tied the score at 33:33 at the break.
Eilat took the lead again, but Hankins returned to collect points in the paint, Jerusalem conceded only seven points in the eight minutes of the third quarter and again escaped to a double-digit gap - 40:51.
The visitors from the south got back to business with an attack led by Griffin and Terrell, but Aleksandar Džikić's team took advantage of the control under the baskets to maintain the lead until the end.
