It was expected, and was just about to become official.
The upcoming Premier League round has been postponed until an unknown date, following the death of Queen Elizabeth.
In the afternoon, after long meetings and although the British government announced that there is no obligation to cancel sports events, the Premier League published the following message: "The league clubs will pay respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. To honor her extraordinary life and contribution to the country, and as a sign of respect, the games of the next round will not take place."
Under the heavy mourning that fell on Britain, no one thought that the Premier League, despite being an independent body that works this season under a tight schedule, due to the winter World Cup in Qatar, would set itself apart from the rest of the industries and football leagues that were shut down - among others also in Scotland and Ireland.

As well as participating in the mourning, the leaders of the best league in the world will now be racking their brains to find alternative dates for holding the seventh round, so that all 20 Premier League teams will be satisfied.
It is not impossible that the cycle will take place in a split manner, to accommodate the teams playing in the European establishments, but in any case the Premier League promised that the situation will be clarified in the coming days.
