After the leader of the table, now second in the table - the way back on the road to success will not be easier for FC Schwaig.

Schwaig – Tonight at 7.30 p.m. the Sportfreunde welcome SSV Eggenfelden, who only have one point less than SpVgg Landshut – but ten more than Schwaig and with 17:9 the best goal difference.

Ironically, the FCS has personnel problems now.

"Lower Bavaria rock the Landesliga Southeast" was the latest headline on the soccer website Fupa: Landshut had defended the top of the table with a 5:3 win over Schwaig, just as Eggenfelden had defended its place behind with a 6:0 win over Grünwald.

The "Spiele", seventh with 49, and the Rottaler, eighth as a promoted team with 45 points: That was the finish line at the end of last season.

Returnee Eggenfelden took a point from the first meeting of the promoted team at 3:3, Schwaig won the second leg 2:0.

What's different now?

The Landshut talent shed has definitely matured a year.

In Eggenfelden, boss Tobias Huber (30) and Co Manuel Schmidhuber (31), two young player-coaches from their own camp have replaced Johannes Viehbeck after just one season.

Two new goalkeepers came in Klaus Malec (30) from the Bayern league promoted Erlbach and 18-year-old Marius Koskowski from Burghausen.

With Malec, the first three games ended without a goal, two were won.

A 0:4 in Holzkirchen was followed by a 3:1 victory against the strong promoted Forstinning, with a red card for Malec.

The following games ended 1-0 in Karlsfeld and 0-0 in Unterföhring – with youngster Koslowski in goal.

At 1: 4 in Dachau Malec was on the bench, in the comeback against Grünwald he kept the zero.

The traditional number one is back at Schwaig as well, because Franz Hornof got away with a one-game ban.

Johannes, his twin brother in midfield, is also back "with a question mark" about his 100 per cent operational capability.

Luca Hones and defender Daniel Stich, who has been sorely missed for weeks, are back.

On the other hand, the bad news hardly broke off during the week.

Leon Roth hasn't been in the country for a long time, Markus Straßer is at a wedding, Vincent Sommer, Maxi Hellinger, Marco Neumann, Johannes Empl, Tobi Jell and Daniel Fichtlscherer have called in sick - the last four are all defenders.

After all, the right to play is there for a newcomer.

Ibrahim Bilali, a 22-year-old Nigerian who came to the county via Ukraine.

"He will play and the boy can do something," confirms his coach.

FCS squad:

Mrs. Hornof, Schmid;

Simak, Fink, Bilal, L. Hones, Wölken, Ascher, Joh. Hornof, Held, Stich, Maier, Georgakos, Buchauer, M. Hones, Bartl
