A gripping derby can be expected when Langengeisling and Dorfen meet.

The next district derby in the district league east takes place on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Langengeisling when TSV Dorfen comes.

Langengeisling/Dorfen – Both teams caused surprises last week – both positively and negatively.

The TSV suffered an unexpected 0:2 home defeat against Ostermünchen, the FCL caused a small sensation with the 2:1 away win in Freilassing – with a skeleton squad.

"You always think it can't get worse, but then it will get worse," says FCL player coach Maxi Hintermaier with a laugh, who caught the flu and wasn't able to train all week.

The injured player Andi Buchberger and reserve coach Wast Held shared the training work during the week.

"I was constantly getting messages that someone was sick," reports Hintermaier.

"On Wednesday there were 13 people in training."

Douglas Wilson, for example, was one of two field players on the bench in Freilassing last week, had to throw up and then dropped out.

"He was ill all week and I don't know if he can play on Sunday," says Hintermaier.

The two goalkeepers Michael Hierl and Luis Rotert could not have trained all week, as well as Dominik Geigerseder and Maurica Steck.

"He came back from vacation sick, but maybe it'll be okay until Sunday," hopes the FCL player coach, who also hopes to be fit again by the time of the derby.

The recovered Lucas Seeholzer is back on the bench and Paul Bucher, whose red suspension has expired.

"It will be a cool game," believes Hintermaier, who praises the opponent.

"Dorfen is a good team, has strengthened itself with young, good newcomers and is therefore also really well positioned in general." He was all the more surprised about TSV's home defeat against Ostermünchen.

"Before that they had won in Saaldorf, shot down Rosenheim and played Moosinning."

The often fluctuating performances in particular give him courage, "because in the end they are only one point ahead of us," notes Hintermaier.

"And besides, we weren't much more of a player in Freilassing." His conclusion: "We go into the game without fear, we want to present ourselves as a unit and take something with us."

Despite the defeat in the home game against Ostermünchen, the footballers of TSV Dorfen travel confidently to the district derby in Langengeisling.

"The effort we had to put in over the last few weeks was brutal," says coach Christoph Deissenböck.

“But after all we are in the Toto Cup semi-finals and are only four points behind the leaders in the table.

That's not exactly the worst starting position." That's why his team was a bit tired.

During the week he worked on freshness in training, now his team is fully there.

"Last week's defeat hurt, but it didn't knock us out," the coach said combatively.

Still, he has some injury worries.

Manuel Rott broke his ribs against Ostermünchen and is out.

Captain Andreas Hartl cannot play either.

According to Deißenböck, he pulled a muscle during training during the week.

"Other than that, everyone is on board and wants to play for victory on Sunday," says Deißenböck.

"After all, the effort of the last few years should not go unrewarded."

The people of Isenstadt will try everything to make them forget last year's derby defeat and to rehabilitate themselves.
