Gemeint haben sie beide dasselbe Thema, nur ihre Art, es anzusprechen, wich dann doch stark voneinander ab. „Sie haben im bisherigen Saisonverlauf Probleme damit gehabt, sich klare Torchancen zu erspielen“, sagte Werder-Trainer Ole Werner am Donnerstag in gewohnt sachlichem Tonfall über den kommenden Gegner FC Augsburg. Dessen Stürmer Florian Niederlechner hatte die maue Offensive seines Teams einige Tage zuvor bereits deutlich pointierter auf den Punkt gebracht: „Auch wenn man Lewandowski vorne reinstellen würde, der würde kein Tor machen, weil wir keine Chancen haben.“ Am Freitagabend (ab 20.30 Uhr im DeichStube-Live-Ticker) gastieren die Augsburger, die mit erst drei erzielten Saisontreffern den schwächsten Angriff der Liga stellen, als Tabellen-16. in Bremen und wollen ihre Flaute beenden – allerdings winkt auch Werder Bremen eine äußerst angenehme Momentaufnahme.

Darüber hinaus ist sich der Bremer Trainer sicher, dass gegen Augsburg jede Menge Arbeit auf sein Team zukommen wird.

„Ich erwarte einen Gegner, der sehr körperlich spielt, was die defensive Organisation angeht. Sie haben an den bisherigen Spieltagen nicht wahnsinnig viele Torchancen zugelassen“, sagte Werner über die Mannschaft von Trainer Enrico Maaßen, die zuletzt drei Niederlagen in Serie kassiert hat. „Ich hatte aber nie das Gefühl, dass sie chancenlos gewesen wären“, hielt Ole Werner fest.
