The judoka Lee Kochman won the bronze medal today (Sunday) in the European Judo competition, held in Riccione, Italy.

Kochman, who competes in the weight category up to 90 kg, started directly in the second round, where he won on penalties against an Austrian opponent, and achieved an Ipon in the round of 16 over the British Gavel Pedgarby (63rd in the world) who arrived 1:56 minutes before the end of the fight.

Even in the quarter-finals, Kochman continued to succeed, when he needed 22 seconds within the gold score, to get Vasari over the German Martin Mitides and make it to the last four, those who in the semi-finals were stopped by the Georgian Luka Misuradze, ranked seventh in the world.

The Israeli moved on to the battle for third place, where the Belgian Carl Pobert was supposed to be waiting for him, but he was injured in his last fight and did not show up to face Kochman.

At the beginning of next month, the biggest event of the year will come, with the World Championship in Tashkent, where 400 athletes from 72 countries have already registered.
