Dutchman Max Verstappen won the Japanese Grand Prix with Red Bull today to win the Formula 1 World Championship.
Reuters reported that Ferrari's Charles Leclerc came in second to Red Bull's Sergio Perez, but Leclerc made a mistake on the last lap and went off the track, and was penalized by five seconds to lose second place to Perez.
The race started on time at five in the morning GMT before stopping on the first lap for more than two hours, due to heavy rain, and then resumed with the drivers completing 28 of the 53 scheduled laps.
Verstappen is 113 points ahead of teammate Perez, who jumped to second in the overall standings.
