Concerns about David Schumacher: The 20-year-old DTM driver sustained a serious injury at the season finale at the Hockenheimring.

Hockenheim – David Schumacher's horror crash at the Hockenheimring is not without consequences.

On Saturday, the 20-year-old had an accident in the final race of this year's DTM season.

Porsche driver Thomas Preining collided with Schumacher, causing a mass crash and a long stoppage of the race.

At first, Schumacher seemed to have escaped relatively unscathed, but it has since been found that the nephew of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher was seriously injured.

“When David came home he was still complaining of back pain.

The diagnosis: a broken lumbar vertebra.

"According to the treating physicians, this means a break of around six weeks for David," said Schumacher.

However, an operation is not necessary, the 47-year-old gave the all-clear.

Fortunately, the Schumi nephew will not miss a race either, after all the showdown at the Hockenheimring was the last race of the season.

A broken lumbar vertebra is still painful.

Even if the crash for David Schumacher ended lightly, mother Cora rages: "Nevertheless, I have to say that I don't think it's okay for Thomas Preining to comment negatively on our son every time without any self-reflection." It was "always easier to look for faults in others."
