Hockenheim – David Schumacher's horror crash at the Hockenheimring is not without consequences.
On Saturday, the 20-year-old had an accident in the final race of this year's DTM season.
Porsche driver Thomas Preining collided with Schumacher, causing a mass crash and a long stoppage of the race.
At first, Schumacher seemed to have escaped relatively unscathed, but it has since been found that the nephew of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher was seriously injured.

"According to the treating physicians, this means a break of around six weeks for David," said Schumacher.

However, an operation is not necessary, the 47-year-old gave the all-clear.
Fortunately, the Schumi nephew will not miss a race either, after all the showdown at the Hockenheimring was the last race of the season.

As a result, several other drivers crashed into the accident duo.
In the event of an impact, Porsche driver Dennis Olsen's engine was thrown onto the track and the engine briefly caught fire.
Olsen and the Swiss Rolf Ineichen also had to be examined in the hospital afterwards.
The race was interrupted for a long time and later resumed.

Even if the crash for David Schumacher ended lightly, mother Cora rages: "Nevertheless, I have to say that I don't think it's okay for Thomas Preining to comment negatively on our son every time without any self-reflection." It was "always easier to look for faults in others."
