This is unexpected for many in the ski circus, but Roni Remme has announced it: The Canadian will continue to drive for the DSV, an enrichment for Germany.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Anyone familiar with the German ski circus knows that Roni Remme is not the first to change associations.

A prominent face in the DSV team is Romed Baumann.

The Austrian drove for his home country for years before moving to the other side of the Alps and starting in black, red and gold.

For the Canadian Remme, Bavaria now follows instead of Ontario, Weißwurst instead of maple syrup.

The winter sportswoman is excited.

Skier Roni Remme changes bandages: "I'm very excited"

The 26-year-old announced her move on October 12, 2022 via social media.

The rumors have been around for a long time, now it's done.

Her grandmother is German, which probably made the transfer to Europe easier.

“I will represent Germany at the beginning of the season.

I feel honored and very excited to race for Germany.

I am especially grateful to the team for the way they welcomed me, it was less scary that way.”

After a change of dressing, the new and old ski colleagues say hello

But of course Remme also sends a farewell greeting to the Canadians.

"I loved every minute I wore the maple leaf".

The maple leaf adorns the flag of Canada and is synonymous with the nation.

"Thank you for your support over the years and I hope you will continue to support and follow me on my new journey."

Remme took part in two Olympic Games.

In Beijing she took 24th place in the downhill and in the super-G.

She was once able to finish second in the combined World Cup race.

Her new teammates celebrate the move.

Jessica Hilzinger writes under her announcement: "Giiieel".

And Emma Aicher posts three fire emojis.

Canadian Cassidy Gray left two hearts.

15-year-old Lara Colturi, the daughter of an Italian Olympic champion, who from now on will be competing for Albania instead of Italy, caused a lot of excitement.

She is considered the greatest talent in her age group.
