In their own stadium, RB Leipzig is still undefeated in the Bundesliga. Hertha initially seemed completely overwhelmed in Leipzig, but a quick double strike made the game even more exciting in the final phase.

RB Leipzig narrowly defeated Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga.

Emil Forsberg (25th minute), Abdou Diallo (30th) and Willi Orbán (45th) scored the Leipzig goals in the 3: 2 (3: 0) in Leipzig.

Dodi Lukébakio (62', hand penalty) and Stevan Jovetić (64') scored for Hertha.

Due to the success, Leipzig is still undefeated at home and is ninth in the table after ten matchdays, but can still be overtaken on Sunday by Cologne or Augsburg, who play against each other (3.30 p.m., stream: DAZN).

For Hertha, ranked 15, a series of five games broke without defeat.

The 1-0 came about because Hertha lost the ball, after which Leipzig quickly switched to the right side.

Forsberg used a sharp cross from Dominik Szoboszlai at the first post to make it 1-0 (25th).

Shortly thereafter, Szoboszlai hit a cross from the other side into the penalty area.

First Diallo touched the ball with his head, then BSC defender Agustín Rogel and Leipzig's David Raum were still slightly on the ball (30').

It was not clear who the scorer was - the official website of the Bundesliga initially decided on Diallo.

The third goal came from a high ball into the Berlin penalty area, where André Silva made a great shot but hit the post.

Orbán was correct and pushed the ball over the line to make it 3-0 (45').

Hertha comes back into play

The game seemed already decided, Leipzig also started the second half stronger than the visiting team.

But then it happened quickly.

First Diallo got a cross from Hertha right-back Jonjoe Kenny on the outstretched hand – there were penalties.

This was converted by Lukébakio (62nd).

Just two minutes later, they even scored the goal.

A free-kick cross into the Leipzig penalty area was initially deflected high, but the ball landed at Jovetić's feet.

From the turn, the Montenegrin hit the bottom left corner (64th).

It was suddenly the turn of the Berliners again.

It was an even game until the final whistle.

After a pass from Szoboszlai, Nkunku missed a great chance (80'), in return, substitute Chidera Ejuke was unable to take advantage of a good opportunity to equalize (81').

Again Nkunku (83rd) scored the supposed 4:2, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

Selke was again dangerous for Hertha (86th), Wilfried Kanga failed on the post of the Leipzig goal.

The 3:2 lead of the hosts held.
