Champion Bayern Munich climbs up the table.
After the safe 5-0 (2-0) against Freiburg, Bayern moved up to second place and overtake Breisgau, who are now third.
The goals were scored by Serge Gnabry (13'), Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (33'), Leroy Sané (53'), Sadio Mané (55') and Marcel Sabitzer (80').
Freiburg played well from the start, but Bayern still took the lead.
After a cross from Alphonso Davies, Leroy Sané pulled away, Freiburg keeper Mark Flekken parried with his chest, but the ball flew through the penalty area to Serge Gnabry, who headed in powerfully (13').
On the day after their annual general meeting, Bayern showed a willingness to play, even if Freiburg repeatedly posed a threat on the counterattack.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored the second goal after assisting Sané (33').
Serge Gnabry missed another big opportunity (40th).
Bavaria does not let up
In the second half, Bayern continued to play seriously, unlike the 2-2 win against Dortmund last week, there was no late drop in performance on Sunday evening.
The omnipresent Sané was freed by Choupo-Moting and increased from a distance to 3:0 (53rd).
Shortly thereafter, Sadio Mané, who was playing well on the left winger, lobbed the fourth goal.
The Bayern offensive ran on that day as well as at the beginning of the season, when Bayern regularly rolled over their opponents.
SC Freiburg looked tired three days after the 4-0 win in the Europa League at Nantes, the numerous changes made by Christian Streich had no effect.
Shortly before the end of the game, substitute Marcel Sabitzer even increased the lead to 5:0 (80th).
Gnabry had previously run across half the pitch without being attacked, and the ball then found its way to Sabitzer, who finished dry.
