The signing of Jaylen Adams in Maccabi Tel Aviv was heartbreaking for Hapoel Jerusalem fans • Throughout history there have been quite a few transitions like this • So who succeeded? Who returned to the capital city and who closed and didn't come at all? • Avi Segal with the zigzag from the capital city near Eliyahu

Hapoel Jerusalem fans had a heartache when Maccabi Tel Aviv announced last night (Saturday) the signing of Jaylen Adams.

They will have a big pinch in their hearts when they see him play against their team.

He played there only last season, but entered the hearts and beyond - this is a scorer that the fans wanted to see continue in the current season.

Instead, he will play for the big rival.

Over the years there have been several such shifts on road number 1. We have tried to examine these transitions until today.

These are only "direct" transitions - that is, a player who wore red and the season after that was yellow, as is the case with Adams.

That's why players like Guy Panini, Will Solomon and Radisab Churchic will not be here.

It is important to note, there were transitions in the opposite direction such as those of Moti Daniel, Yotam Halperin, Lior Eliyahu, Jamie Arnold, Sharon Sasson and this season also Oz Blazer.

In general, it can be said that these were much more influential transitions.

So which transition hurt the Jerusalem fans the most, who later returned to the capital city again?

What a transition it was a success story in yellow and who surprised when he managed to integrate into Maccabi against all expectations.

And also: which transition was closed and did not take place.

Norris Coleman

After two years in Hapoel Jerusalem, he came to Maccabi Tel Aviv in 1994 under Moli Katzorin, as the player of the season with an average of 25 points per evening.

At Maccabi he had good numbers, but not the "superstar" status he had in Jerusalem.

He won the championship with Maccabi, but there was no success in Europe.

In Jerusalem they didn't make any accounts for him and he returned there after a season and won the cup with her.

Terrence Morris

After a season in Jerusalem, he landed in Yad Eliyahu in the 2007/8 season.

Although the team lost the championship, it reached the final of the Euroleague.

It seemed that this was the best transfer that made the transition to yellow from Jerusalem red.

Morris established his position as one of the best number 4 in Europe and after a season at Maccabi he made another upgrade and continued his career at CSKA Moscow and Barcelona.

Dror Hajj

Between 2006 and 2008 he played in Jerusalem and was good when he did what he knew how to do well - come off the bench and give energy.

In the 2008/9 season, Efi Birenboim brought him to Maccabi.

His problem was that Effie was later fired.

All in all, it was a season in which he saw very little parquet.

Yogev Ohayon

All the passers mentioned in this list did only one season in yellow.

Ohion's story was different: Yogev played for Jerusalem Red for two years (2009-11) and moved to Maccabi, when the one who brought him was David Blatt.

Quite a few eyebrows were raised, there wasn't really any confidence that he would be able to fit in at the Euroleague level, but Yogi surprised everyone when he became the first coordinator and was at Maccabi for no less than six years - a success story.

At the end of this period he returned to Jerusalem for another two years.

Amara Stoudemire

It seems that this is the transition that hurt the Reds fans the most.

Amara was not "another actor" in Jerusalem - he had a share in the ownership, during his time there he received citizenship, his connection with the audience was great.

For two seasons (with a season break in the middle) he played in the capital and for the first time he also won the championship.

After the second season he did the unbelievable and moved to Maccabi in January 2020, after 11 games he played in China.

This was the Corona season, in which the Euroleague did not come to an end and the league in Israel resumed after a long break.

In the Euroleague he was only the third center and in the league he was more significant, when he won the championship and was chosen as the outstanding player of the Final Four.

This season was also the season of the end of his career.

The crossing that almost was - Bar Timur

Who wore yellow at night and returned to red in the morning?

Bar Timor closed in mid-June 2017 at Maccabi Tel Aviv and was about to sign.

He was a kind of symbol in Jerusalem, and great pressure from the management and the fans caused the guard to withdraw him from night to morning.

He continued for another three years in Jerusalem during which he was also a captain.

Today he is playing against the other rival of the two - Hapoel Tel Aviv.
