Uli Hoeneß was annoyed by Michael Ott's appearance at last year's AGM.

The Bayern patron threw that at the Qatar critic this year.

Munich – Hoeneß against Ott: Qatar critic Michael Ott said he had to listen to some “bad words” from Uli Hoeneß after his speech at the annual general meeting of FC Bayern Munich.

The 70-year-old honorary president verbally attacked club member Ott in the Audi Dome, as several media reported.

Hoeneß said to Ott: "Your appearance was embarrassing.

This is the football club Bayern Munich and not the general assembly of Amnesty International.” Ott repeated the wording after the event on Saturday evening.

A year ago, Ott wanted to submit a spontaneous motion at the tumultuous annual general meeting to have the members vote on FC Bayern's sponsorship deal with the airline Qatar Airways, which was very controversial among some Munich fans.

The presidium around Herbert Hainer did not allow that at the time.

On Saturday evening, Ott asked the re-elected president directly whether he would extend the contract – as of now.

"I can't answer this question with a yes or no today," Hainer replied.

The 68-year-old thought the appearance of the critical club member in the current meeting was okay.

Ott: "FC Bayern is exploited" - Hainer probably punished because of Qatar in the election

Ott drew his own conclusions from this.

From the statements made by the club's management around Oliver Kahn and Hainer, he heard "the tendency to extend" the partnership with the Qatari airline, said the Bayern fan.

The question of plan B was finally "circumvented" by those responsible.

He complained that FC Bayern was being "instrumentalised" by Qatar.

In his view, this is “unacceptable”.

Opinions on the subject of Qatar continue to be very divided between the club and the fans.

In his speech, CEO Kahn referred to "progress in labor rights and human rights" in the World Cup host country Qatar.

FC Bayern also have a part in this.

According to Ott, the fans are more likely to make a difference with their criticism in the emirate, where the World Cup will take place from November 20th to December 18th.

Bayern supporters punished President Hainer with a mediocre election result (83.3 percent approval compared to 98.1 three years ago).

Hainer admitted that the Qatar controversy was one reason for this: "The issue certainly played a part," said the 68-year-old at a press conference after the AGM.

Oliver Kahn is celebrated by the fans at the Bayern JHV for his emotions against Dortmund.

He follows up against Niklas Süle.
