Watch Nate Robinson get a knockout in his first boxing match (Sport 1)

After the news about the condition of Dikamba Mutombo, who is suffering from a brain tumor, more unfortunate news for NBA fans: Nate Robinson revealed tonight (between Saturday and Sunday) that he suffers from chronic kidney failure, and has recently been undergoing dialysis treatments following a worsening of his condition.

The 38-year-old Robinson never announced his retirement from basketball, but has not played in a professional setting since 2018 - the year in which it becomes clear, in retrospect, that the disease first broke out in him.

"I have recently been undergoing treatments to treat chronic kidney failure, the disease I suffer from," Robinson wrote.

"I've been dealing with the disease privately for the past four years, and I'm sharing it now because I want to make the voice of the patients with the disease who have difficulty talking about it heard. I'm being exposed for a noble cause - our health."

Robinson explained: "I've never been a vocal leader on the floor. I've always preferred to lead by example to others, but now it's my time to speak up and help anyone who has faced or is currently facing kidney disease. I'm grateful for the care and support I've received throughout the process, and hope that through the message This way, I can help and inspire others."

Robinson played in the NBA for 11 years, becoming a household name mainly due to the ability he displayed as a New York Knicks player, whose media he wore for five years.

He is considered a prolific scorer and an exceptional athlete, famous for his unusual dunks for a player of his height (1.75 meters).

The height of Robinson's popularity came after he won the All-Star dunk contest three times, in 2006, 2009 and 2010.

In March 2016, when he was at the end of his career, he unexpectedly signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

In 14 games in Israel, he averaged 16.2 points and 2.9 assists, and reached his peak when he scored an incredible 46 points on Hapoel Jerusalem in the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
