Shahar Tibi was close to securing the gold, but fell in the last cruise to fourth place overall • Together with her in the decisive cruise, Daniela Peleg, Maya Morid and Keti Spichkov will glide • In the men's category, Tom Reuvani will do it

The Israeli team continues to do well in the IQ Foil World Windsurfing Championship held in Brest, France, when this evening (Friday) five of its members managed to advance to the medal races.

The male and female surfers waited many hours on the beach because a storm hit the competition and the weather conditions made it impossible to go out into the water.

After the winds calmed down a bit, everyone managed to have "course" (course) sailings, which were conducted in the rain and extreme cold.

Shahar Tibi used this to her advantage, when in the opening cruise she led almost the entire distance, and crossed the finish line first.

She rose to the top thanks to the fact that her main rival in the championship, Dutch veteran Lilian de Gause, former world champion in the Nile Pride model, who had been leading until now, fell far behind.

In the second cruise it seemed that the Israeli maintained her distance from the Dutch, knowing that another first place finish would guarantee her the gold.

But in the end, Tibi finished the cruise only in 26th place, dropping to fourth place overall, which earned her the ticket to the quarterfinals.

Besides Tibi, three other Israeli women qualified for the medal cruise.

Daniela Peleg who finished in seventh place in the general ranking, Maya Morid (9th place) and Katie Spichkov who closed the top ten.

In the men's category, it will be Tom Reuveni who will participate in the medal cruise, after finishing the competition in fifth place overall.

He will try to give everything tomorrow to secure one of the three places on the podium.
