Spanish footballer Pablo Mari, injured Thursday by an imbalance that attacked him with a knife near Milan, was successfully operated on Friday, said his club Monza (Serie A).
Hit in the back, the 29-year-old central defender, on loan from Arsenal this summer, was hospitalized on Thursday evening but was conscious and able to speak.
"After the difficult times we went through yesterday (Thursday), my family and I would like to say that, fortunately, we are doing well and thank everyone for the messages of support we have received," Pablo Mari wrote on Friday. on Instagram, in a message accompanied by a photo showing him on his hospital bed alongside his wife Veronica Chacon.

Thursday afternoon, the player was shopping with his wife and son in a hypermarket in Assago, on the outskirts of Milan (North) when a man visibly suffering from psychiatric disorders attacked several people with a knife, killing an employee and injuring the player and four other seriously affected people.

The attacker, a 46-year-old Italian, was arrested.
In a tweet posted on Thursday evening, the Arsenal club sent their thoughts to the player and other victims, adding: "We spoke with Pablo's agent who told us he is in hospital and not seriously hurt."
"Dear Pablo, we are all close to you and your family, we love you, continue to fight as you know how to do, you are a warrior and you will heal quickly", for his part wrote the managing director of Monza, Adriano Galliani, in a tweet posted by the club.
